Sukesh Bahadur Satyawakta

Sukesh Bahadur Satyawakta, fondly known as Sukesh Bahadur is the most inspiring and iconic personalities of the Travel Trade. After graduating with subjects like Physics, Maths and Geology from University of Lucknow who knew that luck would have him deviating from the science stream into a tangent of most interesting Industry of Travel & Tourism.

August 01st 1979 entered in Oriental Travels Pvt. Ltd. – New Delhi as a trainee, place which not only taught him ABC of the trade but also gave him an opportunity to brush his skills with an, “Air India Fares & Ticketing Course”, a very significant and prestigious course then. March 02nd 1982 joined Al Barakat Travel Agency – Dubai as Reservation & Ticketing Staff, numerous airlines courses starting with Gulf Air, KLM, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, …… kept on adding jewels to his crown, from his last assignment as Manager Sales returned home for good.

January 24th 1991 joined Civica TravelConsultants, a complete travel agency with Handling Agents for Vayudoot, second Indian Domestic Carrier then. His over 11 years of experience with IATA Travels Agencies brought laurels, on September 15th, 1993, “Civica Travel Consultants” became an IATA Approved Travel Agency, a very prestigious recognition of the times achieved by First Travel Agency in Lucknow after TCI.

There has been no looking back, on January 25th 1995 Civica Travel Consultants became a private limited company to be known as, “Civica Travels Pvt. Ltd.”.Utilising his over 37 years of glorious experience, very polite&cool nature, personal involvement in planning trip / itineraries without compromising on quality or Client satisfaction are the keys of his success and Civica Travels Pvt. Ltd. on the whole.

Sunil Bahadur Satyawakta

Sunil B Satyawakta started his career in the travel industry on 27th October 1980, as a Travel Executive with the than leading Travel Corporation (I) Ltd, popularly known as TCI the world over. With his rapid learning of the trade, he got graduated as In-charge of TCI’s Kanpur branch. His passion and understanding of the travel trade prompted him to launch unique maiden tours to South East Asia exclusively for girl students from secondary to degree colleges. This travel offer was never heard of in these cities. In January of 1987, he set up his travel agency in Lucknow – Civica Travel Consultants having the prime role of Passenger Sales Agency of Vayudoot, a regional airline within a year Civica earned a larger role of Handling Agency of Vayudoot managing the Sales & Operations of Airport and City Offices. Later, the agency’s organizational structure was upgraded to Civica Travels Pvt Ltd. with an IATA accreditation in 1995.

Once known for managing most of the major, large medical conferences and congresses like IOACON, APICON, AICOG (FOGSI), and Chapter and National Conferences of Oncology, Civica has in addition, been operating domestic and international MICE tours for its corporates, besides ticketing and packages for years. Today, besides being a leading travel agency of Lucknow, Civica is the Authorised Visa Agent (AVA) for Singapore Visa, duly appointed by the High Commission.

With over four decades of experience and his passion for giving back to the tourism industry, Sunil modestly claims… “Little that I know, I enjoy and feel honored in passing on my learnings and experiences to budding tourism students and professionals, as I am frequently invited to various tourism institutes and universities as a guest faculty.
